Portrait of Taylor Pokorney

Taylor Pokorney is the daughter of Marine Staff Sergeant Brendon Pokorney, who was killed in action on March 23, 2003 — the first day of the ground war in Iraq. Taylor was only two years old when she lost her father.

With support from No Greater Sacrifice, Taylor pursued her passion for health and wellness at the University of North Carolina, where she studied Exercise and Sport Science. She has gone on to build a career helping others achieve their health goals.

"Growing up without my dad was the hardest thing I have ever had to face. But knowing that people believed in me enough to invest in my education gave me the confidence to push forward and make him proud."

No Greater Sacrifice didn't just fund my education — they showed me that my father's sacrifice was not forgotten, and that people were willing to invest in my future because of it.
